Start your day with a trip to Kangra, ready to explore some beautiful temples. First, visit the Mata Jwala Ji Temple, located 34 kms south of Kangra. This special place is devoted to Goddess Jwalamukhi, famous for its nine eternal flames named after various Indian goddesses. Once you’ve paid your respects there, head over to the Maa Bhagula Mukhi Temple to seek wisdom and blessings from Maa Bhagula, who is revered as the source of universal knowledge. Don’t miss the chance to also visit the Kangra Devi Temple for more blessings. After these visits, feel free to relax and enjoy your time as you please. End your day with a comfortable overnight stay at a hotel in Dharamshala.
Leave your hotel after breakfast and then drive towards Dalhousie, a well-known mountain resort that offers a cool retreat during the summer months in Himachal. Keep an eye out for interesting rock art featuring Buddhist gods on the ridge’s southern side. The charming scenery, filled with vibrant rhododendrons, lush greenery, and clean air, makes Dalhousie even more beautiful. Many Tibetan refugees have also made this place their home. If you’re interested, take some time to explore the old churches from the British period, like St John’s (built in 1863) and St Francis (constructed in 1894), or stroll through the local market places at Subhash Chowk and Gandhi Chowk. You’ll have the evening to yourself to enjoy as you please. Spend the night at a hotel in Dalhousie.
Today, after enjoying a tasty breakfast, embark on an exciting sightseeing adventure in Dalhousie. Start with the town’s four charming churches – St. Andrew’s, St. Patrick’s, St. Francis, and St. John’s, located at Gandhi Chowk. Not far from there, about a kilometer away, make your way to Subhash Baoli. This beautiful spot, surrounded by towering trees, is where the great freedom fighter Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose is said to have spent time in 1937, reflecting and meditating. Next, head over to Panchpula, a lovely picnic area where a small stream fills a series of natural pools, creating a picturesque setting. Your last stop for the day is the Kalatop Wildlife Sanctuary, a haven for wildlife including the ghoral and the Himalayan black bear. After a day full of exploration, relax with an overnight stay at your hotel in Dalhousie.
After having our morning meal, we leave the hotel and head towards Chandigarh by road, which will take us about 8 hours. Once we reach, you’ll be taken to the airport or train station so you can catch your flight or train back home.
