Day 1Arrival Bangalore and Transfer to Mysore with Srirangapatnam & Brindavan Garden

Welcome to Bangalore! Upon your arrival at the airport or railway station, we’ll begin our journey to Mysore. En route, we’ll explore several historical sites, starting with Srirangapatna, the illustrious capital of Tipu Sultan. Here, we’ll visit the formidable Tipu Fort, constructed in 1537 and renowned as one of India’s strongest forts.

Next, delve into royal history at the Daulat Bagh Palace, also known as the “Garden of the Sea of Wealth.” This summer palace is celebrated for its expansive teakwood gardens. Our tour continues to the Gumbaz, also known as Gol Gumbad, the striking mausoleum of Tipu Sultan and his family, set amidst lush gardens.

Our drive to Mysore takes about 3.5 hours from Bangalore. Upon arrival, you’ll discover a city teeming with temples and age-old monuments, attracting history enthusiasts and travellers alike.

We’ll also stop at the Krishna Raja Sagara Dam, built in 1931. Nearby, you can explore the enchanting Brindavan Gardens, open for visitors to enjoy its terraced landscapes and fountain shows.

After a day rich with history and beauty, we’ll check into our hotel in Mysore, known as the “City of Palaces,” where we’ll rest for the night.

Day 2Full Day Mysore Palace & Grandeur Tour

Start your day with a delightful breakfast before embarking on a full-day tour to explore the historical splendour of Mysore, the capital of Karnataka. This city, renowned for its rich culture and ancient architecture, is a treasure trove for history enthusiasts and those fascinated by the past. As you wander through Mysore, you’ll encounter old buildings that narrate tales of bygone eras and offer stunning views and sacred sites that inspire awe.

Our first stop is the expansive Mysore Zoo, spread over 157 acres. It’s one of the oldest zoos in India and the only one to house a gorilla, along with orangutans and chimpanzees. It’s a favourite spot for families to connect with nature and introduce children to diverse wildlife, including giraffes, zebras, African elephants, and more. Nearby, the scenic Chamundi Hills enhance the zoo’s backdrop, providing a picturesque setting.

Next, we visit the majestic Mysore Palace, once home to the Wadiyar dynasty. This top tourist attraction showcases spectacular architecture and houses historical artefacts. Surrounded by lush greenery, the palace features grey granite and pink marble structures, topped with a striking 145-foot gold tower.

Following the palace, we ascend Chamundi Hills, reaching about 3,500ft to marvel at the panoramic views of Mysore. The hill is also the site of the revered Chamundeshwari Temple, a significant Shakti Peetha where Sati’s hair fell. This ancient temple invites visitors to experience spiritual reverence in a serene setting.

While on the hill, don’t miss the iconic Big Bull statue, a massive depiction of Nandi, the bull of Krishna. Crafted over 350 years ago, this impressive sculpture stands 16ft tall and 24ft long, a testament to Mysore’s rich cultural heritage.

Our tour continues to the Gothic marvel, St. Philomena’s Church. Constructed in 1936, this towering church features exquisite Neo-gothic architecture, reminiscent of St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York.

Our next destination is the Jaganmohan Palace, an elegant royal mansion with an auditorium and art museum that showcases a vast collection of artefacts and artworks from Southern India’s past.

End your day exploring Mysore’s vibrant markets. Dive into the local culture as you shop for silk saris, sandalwood crafts, incense sticks, and traditional Mysore paintings. After a day of discovery, we’ll return to the hotel for a restful night in Mysore.

Day 3Transfer from Mysore to Coorg via Dubare Elephant Reserve

Have your breakfast at the hotel in Mysore before we check out. Then, prepare for a scenic 3-hour drive to Coorg. A special part of today’s journey is a visit to Dubare Elephant Camp, located about 30 km from Madikeri. This camp is a sanctuary for well-kept elephants. Here, you can enjoy interacting with these gentle giants. Experience elephant rides, jungle safaris, and even feed them (additional charges apply). After a fun-filled day, we will head to our next hotel in Coorg, where you can check in and relax for the night.

Day 4Madikeri Full Day Sightseeing Tour with Tala Kaveri

Start your day with breakfast, then head to Talakaveri, located at the Brahmagiri peak at an altitude of 1350 meters. This is where the River Cauvery begins. Enjoy a trek here for stunning panoramic views of the mountain ranges—perfect for photography. The path up the hill is steep but manageable. Next, visit Bhagamandala, where the Cauvery and Kanika rivers meet, and a third river, Sujyothi, is believed to join underground. Here, you can seek blessings at the temple dedicated to Lord Shiva.

After lunch, explore Abbey Falls, about 8 km from Madikeri. Nestled amidst coffee plantations and spice estates, it plunges from a height of 70 feet into a pool below. Enjoy the view from a hanging bridge, and don’t miss the nearby Kali Mata temple. The route to the falls is lush and scenic.

Visit Madikeri Fort, closed on Mondays, which retains its historical charm and houses the Madikeri Fort Museum & Kote Maha Ganapathi Temple. The fort offers a spectacular view of the town. Also, stop by the Sri Omkareshwar Temple, a blend of Gothic and Islamic architecture, dedicated to Lord Shiva.

End your day at Raja’s Seat, a scenic spot ideal for viewing sunrises and sunsets. Surrounded by beautiful gardens and musical fountains, it also features a toy train for children. Finish your day by heading back to your hotel in Coorg for a relaxing overnight stay.

Day 5Transfer from Coorg to Chikmagalur Enroute Belur & Halebid

After breakfast, check out and head to Chikmagalur. On the way, stop at Belur, a vibrant site of ongoing worship and a prime example of Hoysala architecture. Visit Halebid, the old capital of the Hoysalas, where you can explore a museum displaying artefacts recovered from the area by the Archaeological Department. Upon reaching Chikmagalur, check into your resort, unwind, and stay overnight.

Day 6Chikmagalur Full Day Tour

After breakfast, we’ll embark on a day-long exploration of this stunning area, known as the “Coffee Land of Karnataka.” This nickname, “Young Daughter’s Town,” comes from its history as a unique dowry given to the younger daughter of Sakrepatna’s chief.

Our journey continues to the nearby twin peaks of Mullayanagiri and Seethalayanagiri, only 3km apart. Seethalayanagiri rises over 5000ft (more than 1500m), offering breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and coffee plantations from the parking area that’s a short walk from the peak. Mullayanagiri, standing at about 1930m (6317ft), is the highest peak in the range and one of the oldest coffee plantation sites in India. It’s the fourth tallest peak south of the Himalayas and is popular with trekkers for its spectacular views and manageable 3km hike from Seethalayanagiri.

We’ll also explore the Baba Budan Giri range, named after the Sufi saint Baba Budan who reputedly introduced coffee to India in 1670 from Yemen. The mountains, also known as Chandadrona or “moon guide” due to their crescent shape, are home to the intriguing Dattapeeta Cave, where Baba Budan used to reside.

Later, we’ll visit the majestic Manikyadhara Falls, just 1km from Baba Budan Giri. Often called the “stream of pearls,” this perennial waterfall cascades into the Nellikayi Theertha, creating a stunning natural spectacle.

As the day winds down, we’ll head towards the city to visit Mahatma Gandhi Park, or MG Park, which offers a splendid view of Chikmagalur’s landscape and features a statue of Mahatma Gandhi. It’s a perfect spot for families to unwind and for children to play, including a popular tree house.

We’ll then return to your hotel or resort in Chikmagalur for an overnight stay.

Day 7Transfer from Chikmagalur to Bangalore Airport / Railway station for Departure

Have your breakfast before you leave Chikmagalur and head to Bangalore. On the way, we’ll stop at Shravanabelagola, a renowned Jain temple known for its impressive 57-foot statue of Bahubali. This statue, the largest monolithic figure in the world, is carved from a single block of granite and stands as one of the tallest free-standing statues globally, crafted around 981 AD. It is here that Lord Gometeshwara is revered.

As we continue our journey to Bangalore, we will assist you with your luggage to prepare for your departure. The tour concludes as you say farewell to the beautiful coffee lands of Karnataka.
